Consider the Ant

It’s amazing how the bible uses the little things of our world to drive home some major things to consider in our lives.

Take for example Proverbs 6:6-8
The ant is used as an allegory.

It says, “Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider it’s ways and be wise!  It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest."

We can take a lesson from the little ant.
They don’t wait until it’s too late to do anything about it.
They collect food in summer because they know winter is coming.

I have attended too many funerals that I wish the deceased could have taken a lesson from the ant. Then perhaps they would have been a little wiser and prepared for winter during the summer of their life.

Ladies and gentlemen consider the little ant today, and make sure you have made provision for your soul.

As sure as there is a summer of our life there will also be a winter.

“For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?”
