You Can Make It

From Pastor Allen

When a baby is born we look at that newborn and make a big time over the child and say “Oh what a beautiful baby!” However, if in a year’s time from the birth of that child you saw it again and it looked exactly the same in size and appearance as it did at birth, you would then say, “What a tragedy!”

Stagnation means there is something wrong. It is so easy to become discouraged over the fact that we feel we are getting nowhere in life. There may be barriers that are hindering you in your life. Our barriers are many times in our thought life. “You’re not good enough; You have never accomplished anything; You won’t be able to make it; You’ve tried before and it never worked.” Negative thoughts come from Satan. Jesus wants you to succeed and move on in life. Satan wants you to be a loser but God wants you to be a winner.

Up until 1954 it was a foregone conclusion that in track and field the mile run could not be ran in under 4 minutes. Hundreds of times over the years men had tried to run it under 4 minutes but to no avail. That was until a young man came along by the name of Roger Bannister, who on May 6th, 1954 ran the mile in 3 minutes 59.4 seconds. Less than 2 months later Australian John Landt ran the mile in 3 minutes, 58.0 seconds.

Today top runners regularly complete the mile in less than 3 minutes, 50 seconds. All you have to do to progress in your life is get past that barrier. You can do it. “The thief (Satan) comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came to give us abundant life.” (John 10:16) It may take a little time, but with God’s help you can make it past the barriers in your life.
