When a baby is born we look at that newborn and make a big deal over the child and say “Oh what a beautiful baby!” However, if in a year’s time from the birth of that child you saw it again and it looked exactly the same in size and appearance as it did at birth, you would then say, “What a tragedy!”
Stagnation is evidence that there is some basic imperfection. It is so easy to become discouraged over the fact that we feel we are getting nowhere in life. There may be barriers that are hindering you in your life.
Our barriers are many times in our thought life. Thoughts like, “You’re not good enough,” “You have never accomplished anything,” “You won’t be able to make it,” You’ve tried before and it never worked.” All negative thoughts.
Up until 1954 it was a foregone conclusion in track and field that the mile run could not be done under four minutes. Hundreds of times over the years men had tried to do it under four minutes but to no avail. Until a young man came along by the name of Roger Bannister who on May 6th, 1954 ran the mile in 3 minutes 59.4 seconds.
Less than two months later an Australian John Landt ran the mile in 3 minutes, 58.0 seconds. Today top runners regularly complete the mile in under 3 minutes, 50 seconds. All you have to do to progress in your life is get past that barrier and you can do it. It may take a little time, but with help you can make it past the barriers in your life. Reach out to God, and in his strength you WILL make it.
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
